- Our Story -

Curators of the Nu U Lifestyle Festival

Diana Doherty and Lorraine Levy

We like to practice yoga and have taken it to a new level - Yoga Dance; yoga poses and movements, dance positions and steps all choreographed to music that inspires us.  Then practice, practice, change, and more practice.

Diana Doherty is proprietor of Your Wellness Coach practising holistic nutrition, chinese medicine and a certified yoga instructor.  She has a background in business management.

Lorraine Levy is a highland dance teacher who became interested in practicing yoga for the benefits of balance, breathing, concentration, endurance, stretches for the body and flexibility.   She has a backgound in business and computer technology.

Together, we decided to combine yoga and dance for our own enjoyment.  We did some google searches, watched some You Tube videos, practiced a few moves to music and choreographed our first Yoga Dance.  Then we took it to a performance level.  We booked our first gig at a children's dance recital, just us and the kids.  It was a great experience and the audience around us were so intrigued they started to copy us.  As we did the downward dog pose they mimiced us.  It was fun and they wanted to know if they could do it too.

We added a few more dances to our repertoire and as we did more performances we revised the movements that we didn't like and now when the music starts we are able to perform a yoga dance to demonstrate that you can mix yoga flow and concentration to music.

We want to educate others on healthy living choices like nutrition and strong bodies as well as address some hard core issues for the mind and body.  The festival was our inspiration to offer this to others.

a community fair with music, art, games, fun and information for healthy life choices
